Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has confirmed that the federal government has been engaging the Academic Staff Union of Universities in series of meetings with the latest coming up today.
Senator Ngige stated this while speaking with news men after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council in Abuja.
ASUU has been on strike since February.
Some of the lecturers’ demands include the revitalization of public universities, earned allowance, improved funding of state universities, and promotion arrears.
Others are the replacement of the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System with its own University Transparency and Accountability Solution in the payment of emoluments to member.
