Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has paid tributes to late Madam Evelyn Ebikake of Amabulu and Peretorugbene communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo, who spoke at a service of songs held in her honour at Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall in Government House, said the deceased fulfilled the biblical injunction of being salt of the earth.
The Deputy Governor said a person who qualifies as a light of world must have achieved an exemplary lifestyle of love, faith and obedience to God as well as selfless service to humanity.
He said Madam Evelyn Ebikake did not exalt make material things as her values in life and consoled the bereaved families to take solace that the deceased lived an illustrious and God-fearing life.
In a brief exhortation taken from Luke Chapter ten, Pastor Enock Akuna identified knowing God as fundamental to man’s existence on earth.
Pastor Akuna, who is a Regional Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Amassoma, enjoined Christians to allow God to show forth His glory through them, adding that it was appointed that all men will die, and thereafter, face judgment.
Late Madam Evelyn Ebikake, who died at seventy-five, was the mother of Pastor John Ebikake, an aide to the Acting Chief of Staff, Government House, Yenagoa, Pastor Peter Akpe.
