Bayelsa Gets More Relief Materials For Flood Victims

Bayelsa State Taskforce on Flood Management and Mitigation Committee, has received food items from Brass Fertilizer and Petrochemical Company Limited (BFPCL) as part of the company’s contribution to cushion effects of the recent flood on the citizenry.

The relief materials include one hundred bags of each of the following; rice and garri, fifty kilograms per bag and one hundred kilograms per bag of beans.

Receiving the palliatives on behalf of government, Chairman, Taskforce on Flood Management and Mitigation Committee and Commissioner for Environment, Mr Iselema Gbaranbiri expressed satisfaction over the act of generosity carried out by Brass Fertilizer Company.

Mr. Gbaranbiri said the items will go a long way to compliment efforts of the State government in ameliorating the sufferings of the citizens.

He also assured that distribution will be done accordingly as a Post Flood Management and Rehabilitation Committee has been set up by government to dispatch the relief materials to those imparted by the flood.

Earlier, Community and Government Relation Manager BFPCL, Chief Samuel Okolo said the company deem it necessary to present the palliatives to the State government for even distribution to affected victims.

Chief Okolo pledged the company’s readiness to maintain a cordial relationship with Governor Douye Diri’s led administration so that its cooperate social responsibilities towards Bayelsans are felt.
