Bayelsa government cancels this month’s sanitation exercise

The usual monthly environmental sanitation exercise for this month has been cancelled by the State Environmental Sanitation Authority.

A statement by the permanent secretary Mr. Tonye Opuike said the cancellation which is a directive from Governor Douye Diri is not unconnected to the ravaging flood the state is presently experiencing, putting into cognizance the safety and well being of Bayelsans and residents alike.

The statement however enjoins all citizens to uphold the basic sanitary standards to promote and sustain sound health conditions for their households during and after the subsisting floods.

The Authority uses this avenue to empathize with those affected directly or indirectly by the devastation of the floods as we all go through this phase together and come out stronger by God’s s grace.
