Bayelsa Government commiserates with families of loved ones.

The Bayelsa State Government has commiserated with the family of the Chairman, State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Archbishop Jacob Akpiri, over the death of his wife, late Mrs. Ayibapreye Akpiri, whose sad event took place recently.

The government also condoled with the Regent of Oporomor Kingdom in Ekeremor, Chief Mitin Tamaraumieyifa and his family, on the demise of his daughter, the late Ebipade Mitin, who died last month at a Yenagoa hospital.

Speaking at a condolence visit to the Akpiris at the family house in Okaka, Yenagoa, Governor Douye Diri encouraged the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the deceased served God while she lived and had gone to enjoy eternal rest.

Governor Diri, who spoke through his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, reminded Bishop Akpiri not to mourn excessively, but rather delight himself in the Holy Scripture that says, in everything, give thanks to God.

He assured the Akpiris of government’s backing and support as they make preparations for the burial of their departed wife and mother.

Responding on behalf of the Akpiri family, Pastor Dimaro Iyaebe, thanked the Governor for finding time to condole with them and prayed God to reward the Governor and the government for the gesture.

Earlier at the Okutukutu-Yenagoa residence of Chief Mitin Tamaraumieyifa, Governor Diri pointed out that it was a very painful experience for parents to lose children in their prime.

He stated that the right order was for children to oversee the funeral of their aged or old parents and not the reverse, stressing however that no one could question God for allowing such harrowing experiences to befall any family.

Describing Chief Mitin Tamaraumieyifa as a valuable person to the present administration in State, Governor Diri encouraged him to remain strong and see his other children as a source of consolation at this trying moment.

Speaking on behalf of the Mitin family of Ndoro, Mr. Famous Daunemughan expressed gratitude to the Governor, Senator Ewhrudjakpo and other members of the state government delegation for the visit.

Mr. Daunemighan, who is Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, described the gesture as a demonstration of the love Senator Diri has for Chief Mitin and prayed God to strengthen him and his team for more effective leadership to take Bayelsa to greater heights.
