Bayelsa Governor gets recognition for growth of SMEs in the State.

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, has been honoured and admitted into the Africa Small and Medium Entreprises (SME) Hall of Fame for his contribution to the growth of SMEs in the State.

The recognition was made at the first African Union Small and Medium Enterprises annual forum held in Cairo in Egypt with participants drawn from different African countries.

The AU Commission had developed the AU SME Development Strategy and Action Plan as policy guidelines for promoting intra-regional and intra-African trade by integrating African MSMEs into regional and global value chains.

Director-General, Bayelsa State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency, Dr. EmbeleakpoApere, who led a delegation from the state to the forum received the award on behalf of the Governor.

The President of All Africa Association for Small and Medium Enterprises and Current Mauritius Ambassador to Russia, Professor ChandanKheswer-Jankee, will visit Bayelsa State soon to officially decorate the Governor.
