Bayelsa Governor’s Wife lauds efforts to empower girl-child in technology.

Wife of Bayelsa State Governor.  Dr. Gloria Diri has applauded the State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) for introducing the Model Secondary School Girls to trends in Technovation Technology.

Dr. Diri gave the commendation during a Technovation Regional Pitch Programme for Secondary School Girls” across twelve Model Schools in the state, organized by EDTF in partnership with Odyssey Educational Foundation in Yenagoa.

Represented by the State PDP Woman Leader, Mrs. Christy Ebeli, the Governor’s Wife, who described the programme as apt, said knowledge in technovation technology will help the girls develop Apps that will tackle different challenges in society and make them entrepreneurs.

Dr Diri called on the girls to put the knowledge gained to action by developing apps that will solve problems to benefit society.

Also speaking, Chairman of the occasion and member representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, Chief Fred Agbedi, commended EDTF for the training, stating that it will improve the competitiveness and participation of Bayelsa children in the global space.

Chief Agbedi promised to partner with the board to develop the younger generation as well as put the state in the space of digital economy.

Earlier in a welcome address, acting Chairman of EDTF, Professor Francis Sikoki, appreciated Dr Diri’s support for girls, through her foundation and sued for more partnership for the advancement of the girl-child.
