Member representing Brass Constituency three and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Abraham Ingobere has been declared winner of last Saturday’s House of Assembly elections.
Mr. Ingobere, who is also Speaker of the State sixth Assembly, won in all four WARDS of the Constituency, polling five thousand, nine hundred and seventy-three votes to win a fourth term.
He defeated his closest rival, Mr. Oberiakumo Yousuo, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored nine hundred and eighty-one votes while Mr. Otaribara Daniel of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) got two hundred and fifty-three votes.
Declaring the results, the returning officer, Dr. Jeremiah Samuel, an Associate Professor from the Federal University, Otuoke, declared High Chief Abraham Ingobere winner having scored the highest votes and satisfied the requirement of the law.
High Chief Ingobere thanked God for the opportunity and peaceful conduct of the election and appreciated the electorates, for the show of love in re-electing him into office.
The lawmaker, who said his re-election was a testament that the people have been satisfied with his leadership style, particularly thanked INEC officials for the peaceful and transparent manner the election was conducted.
He also appreciated Governor Douye Diri for ensuring a smooth, transparent and peaceful election and pledged his support to pass more bills that will improve the livelihood of Bayelsans.
