Bayelsa State Governor Donate High Roof Bus To Bayelsa State Council Of Nigeria Union Of Journalists

A brand new sixteen Seater Nissan urban high roof bus has been donated to Bayelsa State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) by Governor Douye Diri.

Presenting the vehicle on behalf of the Governor at the Information House, Ovom in Yenagoa, Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy Honourable Ayibaina Duba, noted that the gesture is in fulfillment of the Governor’s earlier promise to the NUJ.

Honourable Duba said the bus was to enable journalists perform their watch dog duty effectively.

While appreciating the chairman and members of the Bayelsa State NUJ for their patience, he admonished them to make good use of the vehicle and secure it from unguided elements.

Receiving the vehicle, Chairman of  Bayelsa State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Samuel Numonengi, assured that the vehicle would be used to promote developmental journalism.

Comrade Numonengi, while appreciating Governor Diri for his magnanimity, appealed to the Governor to look into the renovation of the Press Center as well as the procurement of a Salon car for the Council chairman.

The Permanent Secretary, Mrs Jane Help-Yawei and directors of the various Departments of the Ministry witnessed the presentation.

Highpoint of the event was the test driving of the new bus by Honourable Duba, and Comrade Numonengi, the official signing and handing over of the document.
