Bayelsa State Police Command has announced the deployment of a new Commissioner of Police in the state.

A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Asinim Butswat says the new Police Commissioner, Mr Romokere Ibani takes over from Mr Ben Okolo, who was deployed to Zone Sixteen Headquarters, Yenagoa.

According to the statement, Mr. Ibani holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology, LLB from University of Port- Harcourt and BL from Imo State University.

The Command in the statement solicits the cooperation and partnership of citizens, to accord the new Commissioner of Police, the necessary support to discharge his duties of maintaining law and order in the state.
