Bayelsans urged to apply as ad-hoc staff in next year’s population census

Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission (NPC) Bayelsa State, Mrs. Gloria Izonfuo has called on Bayelsans to take advantage of the e-recruitment portal to apply as ad-hoc staff in next year’s population census.

Mrs. Izonfuo who stated this during a press briefing in Yenagoa, explained that the commission is poised to deliver the first digital and green in Nigeria with about one million, five hundred functionaries nationwide.

According to the NPC Federal Commissioner, over ten thousand functionaries will be drawn from applicants across Local Government Areas, due to the peculiar nature of Bayelsa State to cover localities in the areas.
Mrs. Izonfuo who commended Bayelsa State Government, sister agencies and relevant stakeholders for their support, itemized the criteria to be engaged as enumerators to include, supervisors, quality assurance officers, data quality managers, monitoring and evaluation officers, training centre administrators, field coordinators and facilitators.

In another development, Federal Commissioner National Population Commission, Mrs. Gloria Izonfuo has charged Heads of Local Government to make corrections in the compendium of localities lists presented to them by the commission before Friday’s deadline.

Mrs. Izonfuo who gave the charge while presenting compendium to them at a training workshop, said after validation of Enumeration Area Demarcation by stakeholders, a final compendium will be compiled based on the para-meters of locality name, type, location and classification.
Controller Yenagoa Local Government Area, Mr. Diriebi Ayala who spoke on behalf of participants in the programme promised to bring to bear all he has learnt on the job and thanked NPC for the training.
