Nigerian megastar Burna Boy took home the award for the Best African artist, Asake won the Best Nigerian artist male, and Tems won the Best Nigerian artist female.

Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif won the award for Best Hip Hop while South Africa’s DJ Maphorisa won the award for Best DJ.

The award ceremony, which rewards hardwork in the African Music Industry, took place at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos State.

This year’s edition had 15 award categories and was powered by Tingo.
