Health officials have warned that a listeria outbreak has hit six US states, infecting sixteen people and killing one.
According to US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the outbreak may be linked to meat or cheese from deli counters.
At least thirteen people have been admitted in hospital, one patient died in Maryland and another miscarried because of the illness.
Listeriosis is caused by eating contaminated food, about one thousand six hundred Americans get the infection every year, and some two hundred and sixty die.
