Death rate increases as winter storm hits US

The state government in North America has decried that a severe winter storm which swept across North America has left the city of Buffalo, New York, looking like a war zone.

Reports from Western New York State has also recorded twenty-eight weather-related deaths with Blizzard conditions stretching from Canada to the Mexican border, killing at least fifty-six people in total.

The region around Buffalo has been worst affected, with twenty-seven deaths reported there.

Governor Hochul, a native of Buffalo, said residents were facing a “life-threatening situation”, as many emergency vehicles were unable to reach worst-hit areas.
