Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has urged parents and guardians not to abdicate their responsibilities.
He stated this when he joined other worshippers to celebrate Father’s Day at the King of Glory Chapel, Government House, Yenagoa.
The Governor, who joined other fathers in church to render a special song in commemoration of the day, charged fathers to always live above board to give the best to their wards.
He described fathers as leaders, providers, protector, teachers, encouragers, and friends, noting that they must be disciplined enough to ensure they do not bring up children in a manner through which will bring shame to the family and home.
While congratulating all fathers, Governor Diri challenged them to raise children that would help make Bayelsa a virile and great state.
