Federal Government shortlists candidates for AGF’s replacement.

Federal Government has shortlisted twenty candidates for the position of a new and substantive accountant-general of the federation, AGF.

The candidates, according to a circular issued by the government, were drawn from ministries, departments and agencies.

Recall that Mr. Ahmed Idris, the former AGF, was arrested in Kano after he failed to respond to invitations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, to answer questions over an allegation of one hundred and nine billion naira fraud.

He was later suspended indefinitely without pay by the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed.

Mr. Chukwunyere Anamekwe, who was chosen to replace Idris in an acting capacity, was also removed.
