FRSC Re-States Commitment To Safety Of Roads User In Bayelsa State

Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has re-stated its stance to ensure safety for both motorists and all road users in Bayelsa state.

Sector Commander, Mr. Usman Ibrahim stated this when he appeared on a Radio Bayelsa audience participatory programme ‘Road Safety Time’.

Mr. Ibrahim said there are fifty-three offences that a motorist can commit while on the road including traffic light/sign violation, use of phone while driving, which he noted attracts a fine.

He also listed other common offences to include road obstruction, speed limit and vehicle license violations as well as driving without spare tyre.
Others are, wrongful overtaking; route violation, driving under alcohol or drug influence, overloading and driver’s license violation among others.

The Bayelsa State Sector Commander also warned motorists especially tricycle operators against peddling false news and rumors noting that the Command under his watch would not tolerate abuse of road regulation such as overloading of any kind.
