Governor Diri appreciates Gbarain Kingdom for Cultural preservation

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has appreciated King Funpere Akah, the Ibenanaowei of Gbarain kingdom, for preserving the cultural heritage of the people.

Governor Diri, said this during the ‘Gbarain Uzu’ New Yam Festival, at Okolobiri town in Yenagoa local government area.

He urged the younger generation to work hard and be productive, stressing that the proceeds of what their parents have gathered all through the farming season is what is been celebrated. 

The governor noted that the white-collar job sometimes may not be as productive or lucrative as farming, especially the improved and modern way of farming. 

He appreciated the people of the kingdom for the privilege to be part of the celebration.
