Bayelsa state Governor Douye Diri has restated his position on zoning of the presidency position in the country.
Governor Diri made the assertion during a visit by his Rivers state counterpart Governor Nyesom Wike and his team who visited him in Government House, Yenagoa, to inform him about his presidential bid under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He emphasized that for the sake of equity, justice and fairness, the presidency should revert back to the southern part.
The Governor further stated that Nigerians were looking up to the PDP to rescue the country, stressing that there was need to unite the party and focus on issue-based campaigns rather than engage in calumny.
Pledging his support for Chief Nyesom Wike, on his Presidential aspiration, The Governor commended Wike’s development strides in Rivers noted that the two states would remain united to protect their collective interests.
