House of Assembly passes Memorial Day bill in Bayelsa State

Bayelsa State House of Assembly has passed a bill tagged “The Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro and Other Heroes Memorial Day Bill 2022”. 

The bill which seeks to make May sixteenth a public holiday to celebrate Heroes of the Land had earlier undergone the legislative processes. 

Shortly after the passage, the Speaker of the House, Chief Abraham Ingobere thanked the legislators for their contributions and efforts to ensure the passage of the bill as it will inspire people to make selfless sacrifices for the growth of the region. 

In another development, the House received a list of nominees as Commissioners and member in the Local Government Service Commission. 

They are Grace Ekiotene and Stanley Braboke as Commissioners while Odudu Awipi as member. 

Similarly, Chief Eyororokumah Ben Robert has been nominated for the position of Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Board of Internal Revenue. 

A statement by the Clerk of the House Mr. Kent Adogu urges all nominees to submit thirty copies each of relevant documents before the screening and confirmation slated for tomorrow.
