House of Representatives to probe NSCDC over irregularities in recruitment

House of Representatives says it is set to probe the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The investigation will cover alleged irregularities in staff recruitment and promotion in the last ten years.

This resolution followed the adoption of a motion by lawmakers, Mr. Awaji-Inombek Abiante and Mr. Dumnamene Dekor.

Mr. Abiante who alleged that NSCDC has not been observing the principles of Federal Character in its recruitment, noted that the process had been marred with irregularities, racketeering, favoritism and nepotism.
