House of Reps seek domestic financing for local malaria vaccines

The House of Representatives has called for domestic financing and locally manufactured malaria vaccines in a bid to stop the menace of the disease.

Representing Benjamin Kalu, the Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, who stated this in Abuja during activities marking world malaria day celebration said the  ninth National Assembly has identified lack of domestic financing an as well as lack of use of local drugs as a key challenge.

This year’s theme of the  world malaria day is titled Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement  with a particular focus on the implementation of strategies to reach especially the vulnerable age group children under five years and Pregnant women.
