Humanitarian Ministry holds training for monitors in the state

The National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) Independent Monitors have been charged to be focus and ensure the primary objectives of the various interventions are achieved.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development represented by Team Lead of the Ministry to Bayelsa State, Mrs. Margret Chuka gave the advice during the on boarding exercise for stream two monitors in Yenagoa.

Member of the Team, Efosa Agundaye who emphasized that measures have been put in place for the success of the programme, explained that resource persons are carefully selected based on their experience.

Programme Coordinator Bayelsa State, Miss Amiekumor stated that the expectation from the monitors are enormous due to the various intervention programmes they are to monitor and urged them to take the training serious.

Some monitors who said they were naive about the benefits of most of the interventions thanked the resource persons for impacting knowledge on them and the Federal Government for bringing succour to citizens at the grassroots through its programmes.

The intervention programmes includes Job Creation programme Npower,   National Home Grown School Feeding Programme, Conditional Cash Transfer Programme and Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme.
