INEC Begins Distribution of Permanent Voter’s Card Today

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will begin the distribution of the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) to Nigerians today.

INEC’s Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education, Mr. Festus Okoye, who spoke against the backdrop of a parley with the Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Mr. Okoye, said the commission had met to discuss several issues on the general election, including PVC.

He said for ease of reaching the electorate, the commission had approved the collection of the PVC in eight thousand eight hundred and nine Registration Areas/Wards across the country.

According to him, the commission had also resolved to devolve PVC collection to the eight thousand eight hundred and nine Registration Areas/Wards from January 6th to 15th of next year.

Mr. Okoye said, after January 15th, the exercise will revert to local government offices of the commission until 22nd.
