The Independent National Electoral Commission (NEC) has said sensitive materials for the twenty-twenty-three general elections are in the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye made this known to journalists in Abuja.
It would be recalled that individuals and groups last year raised concerns about the sanctity of election materials kept with the CBN, after news of CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, showed interest to contest for the country’s presidential seat trended.
