NAPTIP budgets sixteen billion naira to combat trafficking.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons has budgetted sixteen billion Naira to combat human trafficking,

They have also introduced new initiatives to identify victims and prosecute perpetrators.

As contained in a document obtained by newsmen, tagged National Action Plan on Human Trafficking in Nigeria, the five-year national plan, which was launched in twenty-twenty-two, will set the benchmark for interventions by all stakeholders connected to the fight against human trafficking.

According to the document, the total budget for the implementation of the plan, is over fifteen billion naira.

A breakdown of the budget shows that the agency will spend three billion naira on prosecution of human traffickers; four billion naira on offering protection and assistance to victims; one point eight billion naira for research and assessment among others.
