Nigerian Railway Corporation suspends Warri-Itakpe train services

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced the suspension of the Warri- Itakpe train services.

This is coming barely two weeks after passengers were kidnapped from the Edo train station.

A message sent to Newsmen by the Coordinator Warri Itakpe Train Service, Sanni Abdulganiyu, disclosed that the Warri Itakpe Train WITS 01 derailed at kilometers thirty Ajaokuta-Itakpe section of the track at about twelve-thirty yesterday, adding that no casualty was recorded.

The message further stated that the cause of the derailment was yet to be ascertained, as one hundred and forty-eight passengers and thirty crew members were evacuated successfully.
