Ossiamaowei Kingdom in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa state has invited the public to this year’s annual Lake Adigbe Fishing Festival.
A statement, the Amananaowei of Ossiama Federated Communities, Chief Amos Bethern and the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman of Egbopulo-Ama Community, Comrade Sagbamaowei Monron, who doubles as Chairman-Festival Planning Committee says member representing Sagbama Constituency Two in the State House of Assembly, Benard Kenebai will be Chairman of the occasion.
Guests of honor are Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief Ekisah Sinkumo, Commissioner-Bayelsa West, Dr. Churson Obosi, Governor’s Representative-Sagbama LGA, Mr. Tamunobere Oguoh and former Vice Chairman of Sagbama LGA, Chief Emmanuel Okosikeme.
Special Guests of honour are the Chairman of Bayelsa State Board of Internal Revenue, Dr. Nimibofa Ayawei, and Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development, Dr. Iti Orugbani while Royal Father of the Day is the Ibenanaowei of Koluama Kingdom, King Solomon Edi-Mangi and Amananaowei of Osiama Federated Communities, Chief Amos Bethern is the Chief host.
The statement notes that, the festival will begin on Sunday by ten o’clock in the morning with Oporoma Community Egbelegbele cultural dance performance, novelty football match between Ossiama community and Koluama Two as well as Ijaw traditional music performance by King Pereama Freetown extension band to thrill the people in the night.
According to the statement, on Monday, twenty-ninth, there will be fasting and prayer, war boat regatta and canoe race competition is slated for Tuesday, thirtieth, Wednesday, thirty-first is formal opening of the lake by the Chairman of the festival, to commence fishing activities while other forms of celebration and entertainment of guests will take place on Thursday, July first, to wine down the event.
