Over ten migrants die in latest Mediterranean accident

At least eleven people are thought to have died in a shipwreck off the coast of Tunisia, with twelve others still missing.

Tunisia’s coastguard rescued fourteen people after the boat, which was carrying thirty seven migrants to Italy, sank.

Five more bodies were recovered on Saturday night, bringing the death toll to eleven.

More than one thousand, migrants are thought to have died this year attempting to cross the central Mediterranean.

The figures are from the UN agency, the Institute of Migration, of which one thousand thirty three migrants classed as dead or missing, while nine hundred and sixty are thought to have drowned
