Papua New Guinea’s Parliament returns Prime Minister.

Papua New Guinea’s Parliament has returned Prime Minister James Marape to power following elections in the country.

Mr. Marape was sworn in as Prime Minister for a second time after legislators in the new Parliament returned him unopposed to the post.

The Electoral Commission noted that voting began fourth of last month and ended on the twenty-second but vote counting was extended due to circumstances including security issues, attacks on ballot boxes and logistical challenges,
