President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of retired Major General Barry Ndiomu as Interim Administrator of the Amnesty Programme.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina made this known in a statement.
According to the statement retired Major General Ndiomu hails from Odoni in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, and was admitted to the Nigerian Defence Academy as part of twenty-ninth Regular Combatant Course.
It says he was commissioned Second Lieutenant in nineteen eighty-three and has held several command and staff appointments in the course of his successful military career.
He retired in December twenty-seventeen.
The statement states that Major General Ndiomu also trained as a lawyer, and is alumnus of National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Badagry, among others.
