President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate to amend the newly-signed Electoral Act  twenty-twenty-two.

President Buhari in a letter  to the Senate President Ahmad Lawan and read at the plenary asked the House to consider the outright deletion of Section eighty-four, which has to do with the resignation of political appointees before party primaries.

The President explained that the provision amounted to the disenfranchisement of political appointees.
