Robert Lewandowski Makes Strange Request To Xavi Ahead Of Barcelona’s Champions League Game Against Bayern

Robert Lewandowski is plotting Bayern Munich’s downfall ahead of tonight’s game. The Polish striker will face his former club when Bayern host Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. The two sides have been drawn in the same group as Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen as well.

Knowing how his former side plays, Lewandowski has now made some tactical suggestions to Xavi ahead of the game, Sportskeeda reported. Lewandowski asked Xavi to consider sacrificing an attacking player for an extra midfielder. If Xavi approves of Lewandowski’s request, he may have to change his favoured 4-3-3 system.

The reasoning behind Lewandowski’s request is so Barca keeps more of the ball and forces Bayern to chase it. The game marks the first time the striker will return to the Allianz Arena following his move from the Bavarian giants to the Blaugrana. It’s also the first time the two sides will meet since Bayern’s 8-2 drubbing of the Spanish side.
