SERAP wants unconditionally release of detained student.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has threatened legal action against President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government if a student of Federal University in Dutse, Katsina Aminu Mohammed is not released unconditionally.

Mr. Mohammed was allegedly arrested, detained, and tortured under the supervision of wife of President Buhari over a scathing Twitter comment he made against her.

He had tweeted in Hausa saying “Mama has eaten poor people’s money and is now full”, followed by an attached picture of the First Lady.

Following his tweet, Mr. Mohammed was arrested and allegedly taken to Aso Rock where he was tortured and arraigned in court.

However, SERAP has called on the Federal Government to end the sham trial of the student.

In a series of tweets, the body described the critic as a prisoner of conscience.
