National leadership of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Alumni Association is to host homecoming/fund raising event in Rivers and Bayelsa States.

The aim of the programme is to serve as a dragnet designed to galvanize members and for the construction of a world class alumni secretariat project to be sited at Rumoulumeni Main Campus of the University in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

A statement by Committee Chairman, Professor Levi Kalagbor, Dr. Jerome Wosu, National President and Dr. Christian Nwafor and National General Secretary says the event will hold tomorrow at Bourgain-villea Hotel along Sanni Abacha Road, GRA, Port Harcourt at two 0′ clock in the afternoon.

The programme which is under the chairmanship of Mr. G.T Ariolo, Chairman Obio/Akpo Local Government Council will also have Commissioner for Education, Rivers State, ProfessorChineduMmom as guest speaker,while Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah is special guest of honour.

The Statement notes that wife of the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Blessing Opiah is guest of honour, while the Royal father of the Day is Chief ChineduOnunwo, who is also Chairman Rumuolumeni Council of Chiefs, and wife of former President, Dame Patience Jonathan, is Mother of the day

The event will also have the Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku is Chief Host.

The statement invites alumni members both in Rivers, Bayelsa and other sister States to attend and donate towards the establishment of the Alma Mater.
