Wife of Bayelsa Governor tasks journalists on professionalism

Wife of Bayelsa State Governor, Dr. Gloria Diri, has charged journalists to be professional while discharging their duties.

Dr. Diri gave the charge when members of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Bayelsa State Chapter led by its Chairperson, Mrs. Grace Orumieyefa paid her a courtesy visit in her office in Government House.

While congratulating NAWOJ for peaceful transition, Dr. Diri charged the new executive to be proactive and sell government programmes and policies to Bayelsans.

She equally advised members of the Association to continue with its sensitization program to communities to educate and protect women and children to have a better society.

Earlier, NAWOJ Chairperson, Bayelsa State chapter, Mrs. Grace Orumieyefa had appreciated wife of the Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Gloria Diri, for the support accorded the association and appealed for more.

Mrs. Orumieyefa intimated her of the activities lined up by the association for the year, while stressing that information management is the main objective of NAWOJ.

She further said there was need for training and retraining of women Journalists on how to balance work and the home front, protect the right of women and the girl child as well as educate the boy child.

The NAWOJ Chairperson applauded the Governor Diri for his development strides in the state.
