Women protests against use of illicit drug among their youth, urges authorities to take action

Women in Amassoma have protested the high occurrence of illicit drug abuse by youths in the community to draw attention of relevant State authorities, stakeholders and agencies in the country.

Operation eradicate hard drugs is a programme initiated by Chief Douyi Alalibo, the Ere-pere one of Amassoma and facilitated by Chief Godwin Akedesuo, acting Amananaowei of Amassoma to secure the future of the youths in the Community.

The Amassoma Youth Development Association led by comrade Bright Osiakeme had led a delegation to the acting Amananaowei enforce the sales and use of  hard drugs such as ice, tramadol, cocaine, codeine amongst others in the community.

Comrade Ebiowei Saniyigha who spoke on behalf of the youth President, appreciated the acting Amananaowei for steps taken to guarantee the future Amassoma youths.

They however pledge to work with the vigilante group and the Nigeria police to put a stop to the menace.

While responding, the acting Amananaowei, Chief Godwin Akedesuo appreciated the organizer and all stakeholders for coming out to speak against substance abuse and promised to support them.
